Welcome

Calder School is a K-6 elementary school with a long history and a great future!

We are proud of the teaching and learning happening every day to help students succeed.

Calder offers many unique learning opportunities including our regular classes, Arabic language program, full day kindergarten, and behavior and learning assistance classrooms.

We offer after school activities, a daily snack program, and school wide literacy and numeracy intervention.

Please Note: Calder School is full in planned classes in Arabic Bilingual Programming in Grade 1 for the 2022-23 school year. Space remains in all other classes in both the Community (regular) program and the Arabic Bilingual program.

We will accept registrations in all grade levels only if you are a resident of Edmonton Public Schools and have newly moved into our attendance area after April 14, 2022. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian that is non-Roman Catholic and who resides within the City of Edmonton. Non-resident students may only enrol in another Division school with space remaining in planned classes.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Calder!

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Calder School learning community.

We are building a culture of kindness, and a place where students feel connected to each other, connected to learning, and also connected to the larger community.

Literacy and numeracy are in strong focus for us and we provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities. We know that if we can help students become successful in reading, writing, and math they’ll become successful later in life.

At Calder School, we offer our community program (regular program) and Arabic bilingual programming. We also have two classrooms to support students with special learning needs. In our regular Community program, we offer full day kindergarten. A full day of kindergarten provides extra time for children from the Calder community to build important Grade 1 readiness in an inclusive, play-based environment.

We believe that learning is collaborative and a collective responsibility at Calder. Our team looks forward to working together, and we encourage all our families and the community to support our children’s experience at Calder. So, let’s team up in support of each student reaching their fullest potential.
