At Calder School, we believe in empowering students to be active contributors to their school community. Calder’s values of teamwork, respect, and responsibility play a vital role in shaping school culture, fostering a sense of belonging, and making a positive impact on their peers.

Student at Calder:

• Organize Events: Plan and lead initiatives like Spirit Days, school-wide fundraisers, and community-building activities.
• Support School Programs: Assist with events such as Literacy and Numeracy Nights, Arabic Language Day, and Read-In Week.
• Advocate for Peers: Provide input on school decisions, ensuring all voices are heard.
• Build Community: Create a welcoming environment by promoting kindness, inclusion, and school pride.
• YEG Mart: Student run store that raises funds for student led initiatives. 

Why It Matters

Having student voice strengthens Calder’s family-like environment by encouraging collaboration and active participation. Through leadership opportunities, students develop skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving while gaining confidence in their ability to create change.
