Exploration Time
Exploration Time
At Calder School, we understand that learning thrives when students are given opportunities to explore their interests and passions. Exploration Time is a monthly initiative for our Division 2 students, held on the last Friday of each month, where they engage in activities designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Students choose from a variety of themed activities, ensuring that there’s something exciting and enriching for everyone.
Exploration Themes Include:
- STEM: Dive into robotics, coding, engineering challenges, and hands-on science experiments.
- Arts and Crafts: Unleash creativity through painting, crafting, and design projects.
- Music: Explore instruments and singing to develop musical talent.
- Mosque: Taking part in Friday Prayer at Al Rashid Mosque
- Sports: Explore activities like soccer, basketball and swimming to name a few
- Cooking/Baking: Hummus, Apple Pie, Cookies and Fattoush are some of our creations.
Why Exploration Time Matters:
- Builds Community: Strengthens bonds among students and staff through shared experiences and collaboration.
- Promotes student voice and choice, giving students the freedom to explore their passions.
- Develops cross-curricular skills and encourages holistic growth.
- Creates an inclusive, supportive environment where every student feels they belong.
Exploration Time is a cornerstone of the Calder experience, offering students the chance to learn, grow, and connect in ways that go beyond the classroom.
